John Connolly's Torsion / 400 Day / Anniversary Clocks

John Connolly has put his collection of torsion clocks online.  Learn the history about this century-old type of domed clock, also known 400-day and anniversary clocks.  The original mechanism was spring-driven and needed a winding by key only once a year.  Battery-operated movements have become common in recent years.

John shows many examples from various decades starting around 1900.  And he has some Pequegnat clocks as well.  See them all here.
