OLD CLOCKS RESTORATION

Until recently, our museum's Conservator, noted antique clock restorer R. Jordan Renaud, sympathetically restored fine antique clocks for private customers in his uniquely equipped period workshops in the museum and at home.

A member clockmaker of the British Watch & Clockmakers Guild, Mr. Renaud accepted private commissions for the conservative restoration of fine English longcase clocks, dial clocks, and bracket clocks.  He employed only traditional methods and materials.  Methodical and time consuming by nature, the horological restoration work embodied the careful attention to detail rare today through adherence to virtually unchanged ways unique to the craft.

February 2022 Mr. Renaud has decided to retire from clock restoration after several decades of serving his many customers and doing the work that brought him great pleasure.

If you have any clock questions, please contact Allan Symons, the museum's Manager, by telephone at 613-584-9687 (leave a message after hours) or by e-mail at enquiries@canclockmuseum.ca.

PLEASE NOTE The museum on occasion and on request will suggest a clockmaker or watchmaker living in your area who could work on your clock or watch.   These are people who have a good reputation for customer service at that time.

However, clocks and watches given to these people are done so at the risk of the owners.  The museum cannot be held responsible for any problems encountered.  In fact, we would appreciate hearing from you if you do have any concerns, so that we can update our listings. Thank you.
