The museum has a large collection of old hand tools, some dating to before 1900, that were used for watch and clock restoration. Most have been donated, but we have purchased some from people who have closed their shops.
A selection of identified tools is presented in a wooden tool box with many drawers that can be viewed by visitors.
We have on display a ca. 1900 rolltop oak bench with its foot-operated lathe and massive 1898 flywheel. You can also see Max Silverman's mid 20th century work bench with his desk light, tools, and spare parts for watch repair. His shop was located in downtown Ottawa where he worked for about thirty-five years.
Below are pictures of some of the old tools and displays. |
