The CANADA CLOCK COMPANY: By mid 2017 our museum had added many new examples to its collection of mantel and wall clocks that were 100% Canadian-made in the company factory in Hamilton, Ontario between 1880 and 1884.
Many were acquired indirectly from the Jim Connell collection via Miller brothers antiques in New Hamburg, Ontario. Others were donations from various sources in 2017 or purchased online from different sellers.
The following mantel models were received in early October 2017 by donation from the late Bryan Hollebone's collection: VICTORIA (version with drawer), St. LAWRENCE (with alarm), WINNIPEG (spools version), and FOREST BEAUTY.
Most recently the museum added, again from the Jim Connell collection, four more mantel clocks that were purchased at the Miller brothers' October 7, 2017 live auction in New Hamburg, Ontario: the TILLEY, CITY of HALIFAX, CROWN JEWEL ("horns" version), and an attractive model (no label) whose name is not yet known.
At May 2018 we are still looking for good examples of the following known models for our collection: the MANITOBA and the CITY OF PARIS (the larger version).
